The Gulf Nuclear Site is an abandoned radioactive material processing and waste shipment storage facility. Between the company's bankruptcy and seizure of the property by the Texas Department of Health Bureau of Radiation Control (BRC), Gulf Nuclear attempted to consolidate the Odessa facility with another Gulf Nuclear facility in Webster, Texas. Many materials were moved from Webster to Odessa for storage.
Pangea has been contracted by the Kansas City District Corps of Engineers on a Pre-Placed Remedial Action Contract (PRAC) to provide demolition/ remediation services at the Gulf Nuclear Superfund Site in Odessa, Texas.
Work includes:

Radiological Technician Support and sampling of building materials and soils

Demolition of the site building, structures, foundations, footings, and utilities

Removal of existing pavement and floor slabs

Excavation and disposal of contaminant and non-contaminant materials

Removal of septic system

Backfilling and grading of excavation area

Final fencing and site restoration
