Contracted by the Michigan Department of
Environmental Quality (MDEQ) Pangea disposed of a number of radiological
items at sites spread throughout the state. Items ranged from a
stockpile of legacy aircraft radium dials in a Detroit airport, to a jet
engine containing thorium-bearing alloys in a scrap yard in Kalamazoo.
Pangea was responsible for the waste profiling and brokering processes,
as well as transport and disposal of the wastes.
